We finished up graduation season a bit over a week ago watching Miss Kyla get her high school diploma and had a great time at her party afterwards. It's good for us "experienced" and "wise" oldsters to revisit the youthful optimism of a high school graduation ceremony every once in a while. All those adventures and learning experiences to look forward to ... Go get 'em Kyla!
We also enjoyed our short visit with our son Brian and granddaughter Emily who made it up from New Jersey for the graduation doings. It was a quick trip but a nice visit before they had to head home and we loaded up WT2 for a short trip to Massachusetts to visit with a few of our RV friends for a few days. Our trip down and back was pretty uneventful -- just like we like 'em ... and our visits with Judy and Darrell Patterson and Sylvia and Glenn Avery were mostly fun -- but unfortunately Glenn was in the hospital the entire time dealing with some intestinal issues that he his still trying to recover from! We did get an opportunity to visit with Glenn in the hospital and hope to see both he and Sylvia again soon with both of them feeling much better.
We returned home last Wednesday just in time to head over to Auburn, ME and help celebrate granddaughter Sophie's 3rd birthday. Sophie is really growing fast now and is in that stage where she is leaning stuff exponentially. Last year Papa built Sophie a swing set for her birthday and this coming Saturday we will be helping her Dad modify the swing set with the addition of her new slide. By the time she is 5 that swing set may turn into a full blown fort/playhouse ... who knows!
After one day of taking care of chores on Thursday - we were back at it on Friday ... driving the motorhome up to a local campground near Miss Taylor's home in Richmond, ME for an overnight camping visit with G'ma and Papa. We pretty much wore each other out on Friday with bike rides, swimming, and playground visits.
Miss Sophie and her mom and dad and Taylor's mom and dad joined us all on Saturday for a pre-Fathers Day cookout at our campsite. Lots of visiting, more trips to the swimming pool and playground, some mischief here and there ... we all had a great time.
So ... like I said ... it's been a busy few weeks. But that's the way life is here in the great State of Maine in the summah. We may only have a few months to enjoy this great weather before the crisp and gorgeous fall arrives ... so we might as well stay busy!
