It was a beautiful day on Monday so Peggy and I along with Darrell and Judy ventured back into San Antonio for a few hours of strolling and sightseeing along the Riverwalk. What a difference a week makes! We were here last Monday and there were only a modest number of folks out enjoying the day. But then Spring Break happened!
San Fernando Cathedral - founded in 1731
Although the walking areas around the restaurants were pretty crowded and there were pretty long lines for the boat rides - the rest of our walk was not too bad and we had a fun stroll. We all were still pretty stuffed from those burgers we had the day before at the Alamo Springs Cafe - so we skipped another opportunity to eat out - but we did enjoy sitting for a bit and having chips, salsa, and margaritas (Darrell and I anyway) at the "Original" Mexican Bar and Grill.
After our Riverwalk Walkabout we returned to the Rivercenter Mall and poked around a few gift shops before returning to the Vue and starting our return trip.
On the way home we took a side trip to the Mission San Jose, one of the 5 missions along the "Mission Trail."

We did much better at "getting our steps in" on Monday with that 2 1/2 mile or so stroll around the Riverwalk and another mile or so at the mission. No serious power walking for sure - but enough to work off those Alamo Springs Burgers.
Today we are planning to start our day with breakfast out. And who knows what other mischief will present itself after that. I'm sure one of us will come up with a plan as the day progresses.
I know --- tough life!
