We awoke to a beautiful sunrise here in Boerne, enjoyed a slow morning, and then met with D and J for our drive to San Antonio.
We started by finding our way downtown to the Rivercenter Mall - not to go shopping - but to park for our afternoon of walking about. We started - where else - at the Alamo.
Peggy and I visited the Alamo a few years ago - but it was a fun re-visit on a beautiful day. We spent a good amount of time touring the beautiful gardens inside the walls of the Alamo compound. The Daughters of the Texas Republic do a nice job taking care of this national treasure.
Pretty Butterfly
After our stroll through Texas history we walked a block or so over to the Riverwalk - the "other" San Antonio attraction - and my personal favorite.
First item on our agenda was - what else - lunch. We made our way over to the "Original" - a really good Mexican restaurant and grabbed a table right on the Riverwalk. Ahh what could be better ... a beautiful day, great company, a margarita, and good food.
What now? How about a boat ride along the 2 1/2 mile San Antonio River? We loaded aboard our cruise liner and we were treated to an informative trip with info provided by Captain Carlos.
Even this guy on street level was having a good day!
Hmmm - this restaurant looks familiar!
After completing our cruise we walked back to the Rivercenter Mall along the Riverwalk, found the Vue, and made our way back to Boerne ... just in time for Tea Time.
And a nice sunset ....
Today's trip? Off to Fredericksburg.
sounds like you thoroughly enjoyed your day!!!..the boat ride looks like it was alot of fun!
